It's a rainy Sunday afternoon, and your dog Buddy curls up next to you on the couch. You scratch his ears and start flipping through the 1,387 pictures of him stored on your iPhone, transporting you to frisbee games by the lake, walks along the bayou trail, and that time he chewed your favorite pair of red heels.
While you reminisce, you glance around your family room and realize that you don't have a single printed photograph of your loyal Buddy! He's been with you through the ups and downs of life, always with a smile, and is an integral part of your family.
That was me. I was seven months pregnant snuggling with our three dogs when I had this realization. Our little family was about to change in a big way, and those blurry cell phone pictures just weren't going to cut it! I needed to properly document the adorable head tilt and crazy hair and underbite of our first children, so I promptly hired a professional photographer to do just that!
Fast forward several years… our dogs’ portraits still hang prominently in the family room, and I help other dog-moms and dads preserve memories of their own beloved furbabies.
When I don’t have a camera in hand, you may find me at Crossfit, in the drive-thru at Starbucks, listening to Kip Moore, or watching The Bachelor with a glass of wine and three puppies in my lap.
The bond between you and your dog is worth celebrating!
So if you have been thinking about photographing your dog, what are you waiting for?
